Any man will claim to love you
But will that love remain on the days you are difficult to love?
Oh my goodness, where do I even start? I just finished "Broken" by Fatima Bala, and I need to talk about it because... wow! Ahmad is one dedicated man, let me tell you.
This book has ignited a longing within me to experience a love that transcends obstacles. Despite the myriad challenges they faced, the characters in this story found a way to navigate cultural and religious constraints, ultimately finding their way to each other. Their resilience and unwavering commitment are a testament to the power of love.
Which brings me to where Faβiza asked Ahmad a question on what sustains a marriage and his reply was βSecurity, knowing my woman will always be my woman, regardless of what life throws at me, that she's a friend first, then my wife.β He then continues by saying,βAny man will claim to love you. But will the love remain on the days you are difficult to love?β
After reading that line, I had to drop my phone to release a breathe I didn't realize I was holding because it is so trueeeeeee. Love alone can't sustain a marriage. And Ahmad's answer to Fa'izaβs question recognises that marriage encompasses not only the easy times but also the moments when life becomes demanding and challenging. How does your partner's behavior change when they lose something of significant value, such as a contract or a large sum of money? How can you be sure that they will remain the same person you fell in love with through adversity?
Every relationship experiences difficult days, moments when one or both partners may be going through personal struggles, facing stress or simply feeling irritable. It is during these times that the true measure of love is revealed. Despite experiencing their fair share of perplexing moments in their relationship, Ahmad and Fa'iza's love remained unwavering.
Ideal love is unconditional, meaning it doesn't fluctuate based on the other person's behaviour or circumstances. A partner who truly loves you will be there for you even when you are not at your best.
I firmly believe in this popular saying of "if he wants to, he would," which suggests that if someone truly cares about you, they will make an effort to show it through their actions.
In the words of my friend, βFind yourself a man that won't give up on you, as Ahmad Babangida didn't give up on Faβiza Muhammad.β
So guys, wish me luck as I find my Ahmad Babangida in this vast and often mundane world.
And how was your day?

That Ahmad Babangida type of love >>>>π₯Ή
Marriage is sustained with facts far away from love, love is a feeling that might fade any moment.
