My best friend isn't pregnant

I won't say I'm not disappointed, but it is what it is.

Okay, I received a message from my best friend saying she's not pregnant and she has seen her period. Let's just say I'm not thrilled. It isn't what I had in mind, but I'll roll with it. The way I've been dreaming of smoked party jollof rice, even my Instagram feed is in agreement!

Imagine my shock when I got this message! All my delulu for nothing.

So, here is the deal. It's not like my best friend has done the deed but I was just hoping she'll be the next Mother Mary. For a while now, she has been dealing with hormonal imbalance (for those who don't know, it is a situation where one or more level of hormones in the body are either too high or low and it's caused by stress, lifestyle factors etc), which can cause irregular periods. Last month,she got a little carried away and even told her brother that she was going to take a pregnancy test because she thought she might be pregnant.

“I might be the one that will give birth to Jesus. Bad bad things have been happening in this life too much. Life is coming to an end and it seems God wants to use me as portal that will bring Jesus to life”, she said 😂. Needless to say, a few weeks later, her period came and we accepted that she is not to be the mother of Jesus ooo. We had a good laugh about it and life went on.

My hopes of becoming an aunt were dashed this month too. And as she said, guess I'm not gonna be an aunt… yet! My bestie is not ready for babies, but I'm determined to have a party. Looks like I'm turning into Cupid. Hopefully , this matchmaking thing will lead to a celebration and that means one thing : smoked party jollof!!!

I got her permission to post this, btw. (And I know you are going to read this, just go and get married, make me an aunt and let's leave this virgin birth talk for God).

And yes, you guys can invite me to weddings or namings. I'm craving party jollof! (on my knees for jollof)
